Ann Hendrickson Griffin Cello

Ann Hendrickson Griffin began her cello studies at the age of eleven. She earned her Bachelor and Masters of Music degrees at Roosevelt University in Chicago where she studied with Karl Fruh. Further studies included coaching with Frank Miller, the former CSO principal cellist. At the Academie Internationale in Nice, France, Ann studied with Maurice Gendron and earned the Certificat de Stage.
Ann has performed in many of the great concert halls in Europe including Frankfurt, Geneva, and Vienna. She has performed with many Chicago area ensembles including the Chicago String Ensemble, Chicago Opera Theatre, Symphony II, and the American Ballet Theater. Currently, Ann is principal cellist with the Chicago Sinfonietta where she has been a member since its inception. She is a featured soloist on the Sinfonietta's CD Epitaph, conducted by Paul Freeman. Ann maintains a private teaching studio at her home in Wheaton.
